CRICKET.
THE AUSTRALIAN ELEVEN. [Special to Pkess Association. ! SYDNEY, Deo. 11. Mr Victor Cohen, manager of the Australian Eleven, has given his version of affairs. He states that some members of the team were drunk time after time, and on occasions attempted violence against him. Several of the men were absolutely unmanageable, and he says that most of the trouble came from the Adelaide contingent. Trott alleges that only .£SO or iB6O dividend was declared as the financial result of the tour, but Cohen denies the correctness of this statement. Lyons says that the manager was generally disliked. Coningham alleges that Blackham would not allow him to indulge in fast bowling, owing to the difficulty in wicketkeeping for hia fast deliveries, and complains that he only had three overs in several months. MELBOURNE, Dec. 11. The Victorian members of the Australian cricket team were extended a cordial welcome on their return here to-day. AUCKLAND, Dec. 11. The following players have been chosen by the Selection Committee of the Auckland Cricket Association to form a team to proceed south at an early date to play representative matches in the chief southern cities:—R. Neill, J. Lundon, J. Mills, E. Hobbe, King, W. Lawson, T. Moresby, F. Kelly, J. Kallender. J. Fowke, W. Stemaon, (J. M’Cormack, D. Hay, S. M'Pheraon and Jacobs. DUNEDIN. Dec. 11. Playing against Op oho in Cup matches the Gransre team made 175 for five wickets, Downes 72, -Parker |pt out 53. CANTERBURY v. AUCKLAND. Mr A. M. Ollivier has selected the following players to go into practice for the match against Auckland on Jan. 5 and 6,1894: E. P. Barnes E. V. Palmer J, U. Collins W. Pearce W. J. Cofcterill T. W. Reese L. North Practices started yesterday evening, at 4.30, end will be continued each afternoon at the same time. Mr Ollivier intends to make regard for practice a factor in his seclectioa, and requests the above players to cither devote themselves to the training or to advise him early if circumstances prevent them from being present.
