FIRES AT GISBORNE.
[Pbb Pbess Association.] GISBOESE, Dec. 11. Pettie’s store and dwelliag, at Waipiro, have been destroyed by fire. The furniture was saved. . The insurance is £IOSO in the London and Liverpool and Globs Office. Dickson’s British Empire Hotel, in Gisborne, was on fire this morning- When the alarm waa given the flames had a big hold, but the smartness of the Fire Brigade saved the building from total destruction. The hotel was considerably damaged by fire and water, and was insured for .£IOOO in the Phconix, and JE4OO in the London and Liverpool aud Globe Office. The stock and furniture were insured for £4,00 in the Imperial Office.
