SWIMMING.
CHRISTCHURCH AMATEUR SWIMMING CiiUß. On Saturday afternoon the members of the Christchurch Amateur S wimmiog Club held their fourteenth annual exhibition of water, sports in the West Christchurch school bath. All through the sport wag very good, and many novelties were in-' eluded in the programme. A blindfold dog and duck hunt was very mirth-provoking’, a?, was the franchise race. The racing in tho 25yds Inter-Club Handicap was rrceedingiy good. C. E. Bird (Christchurch) beat H. L, Armitaga (Richmond) in the final beat by a foot after a fine race. Credit is due to the various officials for the manner in which the sports were carried out. The following are results of the various events:— 25yds Intsr-Club Handicap—First htac» J. Refreshment Race-—ln this race the competitors had to swim one kngtb. of tho bath, drink a bottle of milk, then fill the botclo with water and place it on tho opposite tide of the bath properly corked. S.'L. Partridge (East Christchurch) waa the only competitor,wfaa filled his bottle with water. A. H. \Yiute, A. P. Blanchard' and A. G. Henderson also competed. Undressing Competition —A. There was' no score in the fifot spell, but in the second Watson scored two goals and Halliday one for the Christchurch team,, which won by three goals to nil.
