RICCAETON TRAINING NOTES. Wednesday.

An exceptionally heavy frost lay on the ground this morning, and the tracks, sodden by the rain of Saturday and Monday, were frozen hard. It had been arraaged, however, that the grass tho aid be thrown open, and consequently a fair amount of fast work was accomplished. Meluaina and Awarun Eose were associated in a gallop ones round at threequarter pace, while Eetina and Specton in turn accomplished similar exercise, and Justice and 6t Barbs covered two rounds steadily. Gondolier and Tiritea were led by Kapua in a strong gallop over four mile?. Both Tiritea and Kapua moved well, bat Gondolier hardly pleased the onlookers. Vietrix moved freely over two rounds at a fairly strong pace. Empire worked steadily, and Master Eoyai strode twice round at a good steady pace. Vogengang and Shelah worked slowly and steadily twice round, and Erin-go-Bragh, looking fresh and well, performed similar exercise, finishing fast. Eoseguard moved freely twice round at a strong pace, Solomon worked steadily, aa did Lawrence and Clyde, while Eshel, who arrived from Dunedin yesterday, looking well, merely trotted. Bloodsucker strode twice round at a good steady pace, while Lord Hopetouu and Unity each accomplished useful exercise, and Jaffa was among those that worked steadily. Clarence bad the assistance of Radical in a strong gallop twice round. The Grand National Steeplechase candidate, who, though a trifle big, is hard and muscular, moved freely aud well. Wayland by himself galloped twice round at a serviceable pace,while Kulnine and Norton were associated in a gallop twice round, the first steadily and the second fast. Kulnine pulled hard all the way and moved very freely, but Norton hardly appeared anxious to increase the pace. Cajolery made his reappearance after his enforced rest, and cantered twice round, brushing home fast, while a number of other horses without -engagements next week accomplished steady exercise.

The Plumpton Park Coursing Club will hold a meeting on. Tuesday and Wednesday next. The nominations for the various stakes to be decided will close on Saturday. Gillie has been scratched for the First Hunter’s Handicap Hurdle Eace, to be decided at the Canterbury Jockey Club’s Winter Meeting.
