ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

[Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, March 22. A seaman on the Miowera, named Alexander M’Nab, a single man, aged thirty-six, while oiling a gin, this morning, fell to the bottom of the hold, a distance of fifty feet, and was fearfully mangled. When taken to the wharf he was still alive, though insensible, but expired before medical aid arrived. His skull was fractured and brains protruded, his left leg and thigh broken, two ribs broken, and left hand lacerated. An inquest was held, and the Jury returned a verdict of “ Accidental death.” NEW PLYMOUTH, March 22. The missing man Thompson has now been traced to Ngaire station. Mr M'Donald, at the Sash and Door Company's mills, remembers having seen a person at the station, answering Thompson's description, who asked M’Donald to direct him to Coutts’ house. He went in the right direction, hut never reached Coutta’, to whom Thompson had a letter of introduction.
