Yesterday was an exceptionally busy day at the Bangiora market, there being over 15,000 sheep yarded; together with' the largest entry of cattle seen in the yards for a considerable time. Mr W. Buss (associated with the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited) reports an entry of 5000 sheep, and sales as follow Fat cross-bred sheep, 13s 9d to 16s; fat lambs, 9s to 11s 6a; store lambs, 7s to 8s 9d; merino ewes. Is 7d to 4s lOd and 8s; merino wethers, 6s 6d; cross-bred wethers, 14s to 15s lOd; cross-bred ewes up to 14s 6d. The cattle and pigs all sold at full market values. In the produce yards Mr W. There was a large entry, a good attendance, and a thoroughly satisfactory sale at the Ashburton Yards on Tuesday. Owing to the large number of sheep advertised for sale all over the country, sales in this district for the last two weeks have been a bit dragging, but on Tuesday the sale a remarkably good ope. There were about 13,000 sheep yarded, a large proportion of which were breeding ewes, and nearly the whole entry found buyers at very satisfactory prices. Fat cross-bred wethera sold at 13s 3d to Ids sd, ditto ewes fcs lid to 10a 7d, merino wethera from 5s 9d to Bs, ewes from-Os to Bs, oross-bred ,ewea sold at 8a lOd, ps 8d up to iPs 5d for aged ewes, and from lie to Ids 9d was paid fur young sheep. Cross-bred lambs sold from 7s Id to 12a 3d, tho better sorts selling much more freely than last week. Merino ewes varied from 3s 2d for old worn-out scrubbers up to 6a Pi for fair-conditioned fresh ewes. Merino ewes with a good percentage of lambs all counted sold from 7s to 7s 6d. Cattle.— There was a large entry of cattle, about 50 head, but buyers were scarce, and prices lower than last week. Fat steers, Mto .£6; fat heifers, 424 10s to JB6 16s; fat cows, £S to £7 Isa; milch cows, £S 17a 6d; stores, 21s to £3 Is; yearlings, 13s. Pigs. —Porkers 355, stores, 2ls to 26 j.
