BIBLE CHRISTIAN CHURCH DISTRICT MEETING.

- The ’ district meeting of the Bible Christian Church was resumed at the Addington Church yesterday morning. • After devotional exercises, the Examination Committee reported upon the examination of the Rev F. T. Bead, who had now completed the fourth year of his probation. Mr Bead preached a trial sermon on Sunday morning, which was criticised at great length. The result proved satisfactory to the meeting and creditable to Mr Bead, and it was resolved unanimously—- " That Mr Bead be recommended to the English Conference to be received into full connexion." The Eev W. Beady ready a telegram from-a member of his Dunedin congregation, .'stating that bn Sunday evening there were six conversions during the service. It was resolved to invite the Rev J. O. Keen, D.D., of the English Conference, to jQin the ranks of the ministry in this Colony. The spiritual report wns very encouraging.: The increase of members during the year was ninety-nine, while the prospects for the future were never more hopeful than at present. The subject of Methodist Union was discussed with much interest, and a resolution was unanimously carried, affirming the desirability of having one Methodist Church for New Zealand, and a Committee was appointed to confer with the other Mi thodist bodies on that subject. Reed, when the Eev F. T. Bead was ordaihed. The Rev W. Beady moved the brdination of Mr Bead in a very appropriate speech, which was seconded by the Bev B. H. Ginger, and supported by Mr J. Cbck. The Eev J. Orchard delivered a pbinted and practical charge, in which he dwelt largely upon the duties and responsibilities of ministers. At the close, he presented the candidate with a Bible in the name of the English Conference. There was a large congregation. This evening there will be a missionary meotinsr. to be presided over by Mr Olds, «d a/dressed by the Revs W. Ready. J. g/ W. Ellis, B. H. Ginger and J. Quintrell. ’
