THE CRACKER NUISANCE.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —On Christmas Eve I felt very much disgusted to see a party of larrikins deliberately throw lighted crackers amongst the Salvation Army soldiers atone o? their meetings. The thought suggested itself to me, what remedy would any of them poor people have had if they had lost their eight through this diabolical pastime? Again, suppose a horse had been driven mad through a cracker exploding in its car, and in its agony had knocked anyone clown and trampled them to death, who would be to blame for such a disaster ? Would it be the thoughtless little boy who was only following the usual custom, or would it be society, which allowed such recklessness to bo practised? Hoping that a stop will be put to such folly iu the year 1803.—1 am, &c.. S tOP IT.
