[Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, June 24. The Terranora is still taking in the cable, and is not likely to make a start till to-morrow. The weather still holds fairly calm. DUNEDIN, June 24. News has been received that John Henderson, carpenter, of St Kilda, who had just completed a contract at Baamockhurn, fell into the water while going on board the steamer at Queenstown, Lake Wakatipu, and was drowned, or killed by striking the wharf, as these was a braise on his head. He is a married man. INVERCARGILL, June 24, Mr Eawson, E.M,, has been engaged all day, and is now (10.30) sitting hearing informations against Alexander Rennie Hay, landowner at iandhurst and his son, Henry, who arc charged with stealing 134 sheep, the property of A. R. Wallis, of Morten Mains, adjoining. The police have been working up the case for months past. Wallis deposed that he had been losing an average of about 1000 sheep per annum since 18SS. Nothing very startling has come out yet. Sir R. Stout, for the defendant, asked Wallis to explain why there was a discrepancy of 3000 to 4000 a year between the numbers of sheep read from his return and those on which he paid sheep tax to the Government. The answer was that he did not know.
