SIR WILLIAM FOX.

AUCKLAND, Mat 3. Sir William and Lady Pox celebrated their golden wedding to-day. A deputation waited on them at their residence and presented an illuminated address, bearing eight hundred signatures, in which, besides congratulations, reference was made to the valuable services rendered by Sir William as a politician, a temperance reformer, &c. Congratulatory speeches were made by many old identities. Sir William Fox replying, attributed his long life and good health to his total abstinence from intoxicating drink, and said he had always been animated by a desire to do both publicly and privately what was best for the Colony and for tho Colonists.
