UNION BOWING CLUB.

The twenty-fifth annual meeting o£ the members of the Union Sowing Club was held in their new shed on Friday, and, despite the inclemency of the weather, there was a capital attendance. Mr H. Thomson, Vibe - President, occupied the chair, and congratulated the members on having so comfortable and commodious a room of tbeir own in which to hold their meetings. ... The report of the Committee stated that the income from subscriptions and entrance fees during the year had been £230195, and the total amount received for the year, including .£730 received as loan, was £1063 Is. Mr T. M. Bunting moved, and Mr T. L. Smith seconded, the adoption of the report. The motion was agreed to. , • The election o£ officers "resulted las follows:—President, Mr Joseph Gould; Vice-Presidents, Messrs H. Thomson," E. H! Bhodea, hud A. Lbughf ey; Captain, Mr F. ; E.' Hyjnaxf; Geputv-CaptaiP. Mr G; "Committee, Messrs Mills, "Wharton, Ledsham, Grad? dock, Forbes, Foster and Allard; Auditors, Messrs- S. C. Keateven and T. L. Smith; Delegates to the Amateur Sowing Association, the Captain and Secretary. On the motion of Mr Hyman, Mr Frederick Fuller was. unanimously elected a life member of the Club. His record of winning events was a most creditable one, and the mover’g eulogiuru was warmly applauded by the meeting. Mr F. D. Kesteven moved, in pursuance of notice—" That no one shall be admitted to the Club, or allowed to retain his membership thereof, who shall have taken part in any athletic pursuits ether than bond jida . amateur, or unless he shall have, had his amateur status restored.”

Mr Wharton seconded the motion, which, however, met with considerable dissent, and was negatived by a large majority. Mr G. H. Mason moved an alteration to tho rule relating to annual subscription. His motion was to increase the subscription from JBllos to J 22, and abolish the entrance fee of £l los. ‘

Mr G. W. Forbes seeonded the motion, which was carried.

Mr Keateven moved—“ That the Easing Committee shall consist of the Captain and two members to be elected by the Committee of the Club; that they shall select crews to represent the Club, and shall have power to alter the crews at their diecretibn, supervise the training of crews, appoint coaches, and regulate and carry out the Club races.” Mr ' Atack seconded ’ this, and it was carried unanimously. Several other alterations in the rules *wera agreed to. The usual votes of thanks terminated the meeting.
