[Feb Fuses Association.] WELLINGTON. May 29,
At a meeting of the Port Nicholson Yacht Club, the rules of the proposed Yacht Eaoing Association were considered. Eule 8 was made to read—" That the subscription payable for each delegate be one guinea,” instead of half a guinea. Eule 10 was made to read—“ That no port be named for holding a champion race which cannot raise £100.” An addition to Eule 14 was made —" That all competitors should belong to a recognised Club.” DUNEDIN, Mat 29.
The sale of Crown land attracted a large gathering. The bidding was spirited, particularly for pastoral properties and sections in the Herbert township. The Hon E. J. Seddon received numerous deputations at Naseby, but mainly on local matters. He said that the Government was impressed with the absolute necessity of encouraging the mining industry, and talcing steps to stop the exodus.
