CLERKS.
TO THE EDITOR.
Sir,—l have felt deeply interested in the correspondence which has lately appeared respecting the different Trade Unions, and have been hoping to see that clerks would follow the good example shown them, and combine for the protection of their interests, remedying of their grievances, such as late hours of working, and the small salaries they receive in proportion to the responsible positions they hold. As a clerk’s wife, I cannot now afford to pay for any help in the numerous duties I have to perform, and am entitled to the same sympathy and help which is now being obtained by other classes. Trusting clerks will open their eyes to the advantage of combination and avail themselves of it.—l am, &c., A CLERK’S WIFE,
