July 29. . ; Titers were about 250 brethren at the aaeetiiigof the Grand Lodge of Masons considerable amount of federal business -was transacted, a lengthy Mport by the Board of General Purposes being ifjoptetl. The recent opening of a Xodgein Wellington by the Grand Orient «( France was mentioned, and a resolution '.was /carried unanimously protesting mgfcinat the invasion of New Zealand by - ft foreign Masonic power, and strongly con* detuning those brethren who had joined the' new Lodge. A resolution was also i passed declaring the French Orient Lodge irregular and unworthy of recognition, and that One month's grace be given for it either to retire or he struck off the roll of : Lodges holding allegiance to the Grand Lodge of New Zealand. The Treasurer’s itftteinent was considered satisfactory and several donations were received in the loom. Votes were passed expressing regret at the death of Earl Carnarvon, PtOT, Grand Master of England, and at the serious illness of Brb E. T. Gillon, Past . Deputy. Grand Master. Great enthusiasm was displayed by those present in* the proceedings, which wound up with ft banquet.
