RIFLE SHOOTING.

ALPHA EIFLE CLUB. A competition amongst the members of the Alpha Martini-Henry Eifle Club took place on Saturday afternoon, on the Club’s range. It was for gold and silver medals given as first and second prizes by the President, Mr W. H. Wynn-Williams, and

■ a trophy given as third prize by Mr Eden I George. The conditions were five shots i\ each at 200, 300, 400, 500 and 600 yards respectively. There was a strong cold . easterly wind blowing, which was a detri- \ uent to good shooting, and, towards the G V)se of the match the competitors had to fig « almost by moonlight.
