CHARITABLE AID.

SUMMARY OF EXPENDITURE. Mr Thomas C. Norris, Secretary and Treasurer to the Ashburton and North Canterbury Charitable Aid Board, has prepared “a statement of accounts relating to the financial year from April 1» 1888 to March 31,1889, with a three years’ B ummary of expenditure,” copies of which were to have been laid before the Board at the meeting which lapsed for want of a quorum at the beginning of this month. The accounts give a largo number of details in reference to the several institutions under the Board’s control, as well as a statement of the contributions from Real authorities, the consolidated revenue, and private benefactors.
