SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

GERALDINE. The ordinary monthly meeting of the Geraldine School Committee was held on Wednesday evening . last; in the schoolroom ; present—Messrs W. Dunlop (Chairman), E. S. Cook, George Ward, C. E. Sherratt, and John Cunningham. Correspondence was read from the Education Board re resignation of headmaster; also from Messrs Shiera and Parrell, apologising for non-attendance. The master's report was read, and showed the average for the month to be 189. It was decided to write to the Board re copper, and that the Chairman draw up a testimonial to Mr Hughes, to be signed by the members of the Committee. A large number of applications for the mastership of the school were received, but consideration of these was deferred, on account of the absence of two members of Committee. "Accounts, to the amount of M 19s 9d,: were passed for payment, after which the meeting adjourned.
