WELLINGTON, May 20. At the Appeal Court to-day, judgment was delivered in the following cases : Regina v. Buckley.—ln this case, which involved the question whether a man can be indicted for resisting the sheriff, Mr Justice Johnston read the judgment to the Court, by which conviction was confirmed. Sentence to be passed at the next criminal session in Christchurch. Regina v. W. Waring Taylor.—Mr Justice Johnston delivered judgment of the Court in these two cases. In the first, as to v hether the sum of .£7OO obtained from the Bank of New Zealand on James May J s account and misappropriated had been entrusted to him by May, the conviction was quashed. In the second case, the Court held that the Bank share register was properly in evidence, and supported the conviction, judgment to be delivered at the next sitting of the Criminal Court at Wellington. National Bank v. Mee and Reid (Timaru). —ln this case the judgment of the Court made absolute the rule for a new trial of the 11th, 45th, 4Gth and 47th issues, the plaintiff to have the costs of the rule in the medium scale ; all other costs to be settled by Supreme Court after trial. In re Bloomfield (Gisborne) the Court allowed the appeal, and referred the matter back to the Bankruptcy Court, each party to bear his own costs in the Court of Appeal, and other costs to be . fixed in Bankruptcy. The Court adjourned till Monday, when judgments in the last two cases—Wilson v.'Bank of Australasia and Searle v. New Zealand Insurance Company—will probably be delivered."
