Stericter, Esq.) Lasckkt. —Henry Bodley was charged with the larceny of 85 hags of chaff, the property of David Gray, at Burke's Pass, on Sept. 16, value £7. Inspector Broham prosecuted, and Mr Hamersley appeared for the defence. Accused had been engaged in ehaffeutting by -contract for prosecutor, and had, the latter alleged, removed, and sold the bags specified without his leave or knowledge. For the defence it was urged that there was some arrangement expressed or implied that accused should tale and sell the chaff. After hearing evidence, his Worship committed Bodley for trial, bail being allowed, accused in -£IOO and two sureties of £SO each.
