TO THE EDITOB. Sir, —With reference to a letter written by Mr Walter Gibson, and published in your contemporary, the daily Press, of April 19, inwhich he complains so bitterly of a portion of the letter appearing in the Canterbury Times of March 29, entitled "A Field Day at Waiau, Amuri" (communicated), kindly allow me space in your valuable paper to inform Mr Gibson that I am'not the author of the letter complained of. lam sorry to see that Mr Gibson is capable of giving vent to such bitter feeling agaiust the people of this district, which, as far as I am aware, is quite unmerited. —I am, &c, " OWN CORRESPONDENT." Waiau, April 24. [The letter in question was not inserted as from our own correspondent. It appeared under the heading " Communicated."—Ed. L.T.]
