TRIAL OF DISC HARROWS.

TO THE EDITOR. , Sir,—ln the report of the trial of I. and D. Duncan's disc harrows at Softon, on Wednesday, it is stated that Messrs Reid and Gray, and Messrs Booth, Maedonald and Co., were to have competed, but failed to put in an appearance. The fact is, so far as Messrs Booth, Maedouald and Co. are concerned, that I, as their agent hero, offered to put a set of disc harrows in, which had been in use for twelve months, if the affair was open to competition. It was not, as tho following notice sent to mo to post up in my workshop will show .— " Public Notice. —A grand trial of disc harrows will take placo in Mr John Baird's paddock, on Wednesday, April 23, at 2 p.m. Competitors Messrs Reid and Gray, and Messrs P. and D, Duncan."
