LINWOOD TOWN BOARD.
An ordinary meeting of the above Board was held on Monday evening last at 7 p.m.; present—Messrs Ciephane, Hale, E. Toomer, Collier, Glen (Chairman), and Goodman. Correspondence was read :—From Inspector of Nuisances re foul condition of sidechannels in Armagh street. Ordered to be acknowledged. Prom Engineer to Drainage Board re subsidences in streets over the sewers. From Colonial Secretary acknowledging receipt of barbed wire by-law. From St Albans Town Clerk asking for copy of by-laws, To be forwarded. From W. Fabling re assessment. Eesolved—- “ That the barbed wire by-law shall come into operation on May 1, 1884. 55 Eesolved —“ That the annual special meeting for the consideration of the balance-sheet be held on May 5, after the ordinary meeting. 55 Eesolved —“ That a special meeting be held on May 5, after the annual meeting, to make a ‘ special order 5 for framing a bylaw for the suppression of disorderly houses and brothels. 55 The Works Committee reported on the work that had been done since the last meeting, and recommended that tenders be invited for the supply of metal for the winter ; and with reference to the petition received at last meeting from residents in Armagh street, the Committee recommended that the street be attended to in due* course. The Finance Committee reported receipts for past fortnight £8 3s Id; credit balance at bank £9 12s 7d. rThe Clerk was instructed to write to the police re unregistered dogs, and to get 200 printed forms for objections to the valuation list. Sundry accounts were passed for payment, and the meeting closed.
