In the meantime the detective on the search came into the locality, and was informed by a man on the road that he believed Sullivan was in the house indicated. Sde rode up to the bouse, found it locked and evidently empty, and thought he was on the wrong scent till he looked elose under the window and saw what appeared to be the corner of a bag. He drove in the window and found Sullivan lying along the wall. He was apprehended and brought to town, and will be brought up at the Besident Magistrate's Court in the morning. The crime was very deliberate. He had been working at Brooks' farm for eight weeks, and got paid to go to town for the day. He returned in the absence of Brooks, and after a time asked for a drink of milk. Mrs Brooks told the girl, who was a servant, to go to the milk house for it. Sullivan followed aiad locked the girl in, and then went for a rope, it is anpposed to tie Mrs Brooks. The girl finding the door looked screamed, and Mrs Brooks went and opened it. Just then Sullivan came up with a rope, and rushed at Mrs Brooks who ran away, and the girl was left without help. Sullivan has been some time in America.
