PUPIL TEACHERS’ EXAMINATION.

Sib,—l have before me a series of papers which have been piepared for and used by the pupil teachers at the examination held this week,’ from which I abstract the following:— - i ■ “1. Name any cities mentioned in the book of Genesis, and state briefly the events recorded as to any of them ? , “2. What were the predictions of Noah as to his three sons and their descendants P “ 3. Write all you know about Jefioho. “ 4. Give a brief summary account of each of the following persons: Laban, Esau, Miriam, Othuriel, Absalom, Ishbosheth, Elizabeth, Anna, John the Eaptjit, Pilate.” i It seems strange that m a country where secular education is so strictly adhered to, and where the Bible is not allowed to be read during school-hours, that* such questions should be put; and the question arises, where are the pupil teachers to obtain the information?—l am, &o.
