VOLUNTEER ARTILLERY.
The first of the three competitions of the Christchurch battery of Artillery took place on Wednesday at the Cashmere butts, for the purpose of selecting three representatives to compete at the New Zealand Rifle Association meeting, to be held at Nelson. The interest in the matches has been increased by Mr Malcolm M'Callnm kindly offering to present a gold medal to the highest aggregate scorer in the three competitions. The following are the scores of the first event:—
