HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has fixed Monday, the Nineteenth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six, at the hour of noon, at a sitting of the Waste Land Board, in the Land Office, at Christchurch, as the time and place when a sale by auction of Town and Rural Land shall take place, in accordance with clause 24 and clause 35 of the Land Regulations, subject to the usual conditions of sale, and in conformity with the Regulations for the disposal, sale, letting, and occupation of the Waste Land of the Crown now in force within the Province of Canterbury. Applications will be received by the Waste Land Board on and up to Monday, the Fifth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six. His Honor the Superintendent also directs it to be notified, that at the sitting of the Waste Land Board, to take place as afore- . said, the Timber on Reserves Nos. 235 and 236, in Duvauchelle's Bay, Akaroa, will be sold by auction, in accordance with clause 75 of the Land Regulations. THE PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT will, until further notice, provide FREE PASSAGES for SINGLE WOMEN, between the ages of 12 and 40, emigrating from England to Canterbury, in ships under contract with the Provincial Government. Married women and children will be charged at the usual rates. The passages of male emigrants will be charged for at the rate of £14 per statute adult, on approved bills, payable thirty days after sight, or 10 per cent discount for cash payment. THE following clauses from the " Canterbury Waste Lands Act, 1864,"are published for the information of holders of depasturing licences within the province, of Canterbury. Clause 3. "If any holder of a depasturing license j shall at any time before the first day of May 1866 give notice to the Waste j Lands Board at Christchurch that he is desirous of holding his license ' subject to the fees provided by this Act suoh license shall on and from • such date be subject to such fees but this Act shall have no effect with , regard to any licenses in respect of ' which such notice shall not hare been given before the said first day of May 1866." Clause 4. " The Annual fees to be paid in respect of any depasturing licence held under the provisions of this Act shall be ■ as follows: " From the first day of May 1866 until ! the first day of May 1873. For every ■ run containing less than one thousand 1 acres two pounds sterling for every j hundred acres. For every run contain- 1 ing one thousand acres and less than : five thousand acres one pound thirteen '' shillings and four pence sterling per ! hundred acres for the first thousand 1 acres and sixteen shillings and eight 1 pence sterling for every hundred [ acres in addition.
