PROCLAMATION. THE ROAD DISTRICTS ORDINANCE, No. I, 18(53. ! THE MOUNT COOK DISTRICT. 'ITT[JERKAS by the above-mentioned Ordinance T V it is amongst other things enacted that, for the purpose of bringing the said Ordinance into operation, every person whose name shall appear on the Electoral Roll for the time being in force for the election of members of .the Provincial Council for the Electoral District or Districts in which the District for the purposes of the said Ordinance may be situated, in respect of property situate within such last-mentioned District, and every resident householder within such District should be taken and deemed to be a ratepayer for the purposes of this Ordinance, and that a meeting' of such electors should be held at the hour of noon on such day for each District respectively as the Superintendent should appoint after the first day of the month of December, one thousand eight hundred and sixtythree, for the purpose of electing live members who should constitute the first Board for the District. Now therefore I, SAMUEL BEALEY, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Cauterbury, in pursuance of the powers vested in me by the said Ordinance, do hereby appoint that a meeting of the electors for the Mount Cook District shall be held at Parkerson's Woolshed, within the said District, at the hour of noon, on SATURDAY, the sixth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and sixtyfour, for the purpose of electing five members who sliail constitute the first board for the said District. WHEREAS at a public meeting of Electors for the West Avon District, held on January 25tli, 1864, for the purpose of electing a Road Board for the said District, it was moved and carried nnanimously, that the meeting be adjourned. I HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that the said adjourned meeting will be held at 6 p.m., on Wednesday, the 3rd day of February next, at Mr. Parish's Inn, on the Great South Road, when the attendance of the Electors for the said District is particularly requested. WE hereby give notice that the business carried on at Canterbury under the style or firm of Dalgety, Buckley and Co., and at Otago of Dalgety, Rattray and Co., is still and will be carried on as heretofore. And that the said partnership has not been dissolved as advertised by Mr. E. S, Dalgety on the 25th instant, but will continue until the expiration of the term entered into by the partnership deed, viz., the 30th day of June next, unless before that time legally dissolved in accordance therewith. The notice given by Mr. E. S. Dalgety above referred to being in contravention of the express clauses, words, and meaning of the said co-partnership deed. Dated the 26th day of January, 1864.
