j Fbiday, July 4. Present—the Chairman, Messrs. Aynsley, Willcox Fyfe, and Grubb. ' The minutes of the foimer meeting were read and confirmed. ' Mr. Willcox moved and Mr. Aynsley seconded That on a majority of the ratepayers of any street, lor part of street, desiring to have the footpath framed, and the Council being of opinion that it is a special rate shall be levied on the said 'street or part of street, to the amount of one-half the cost, but incase the ratepayers of such street or part of street, voluntarily provide one-half the cost, , the Council will accept it in lieu of a rate. Carried. Mr. Fyfe moved that a sub-committee be appointed, to consist of Mr. Aynsley, Mr. Grubb, and the mover, to select a place for rubbish. Mr. Grubb ; seconding, the ipotion was carried. Mr. and Mr.Willcox seconded, that Mr. Fyfe's namebe'added to the Committee on the by-laws. Motion carried. It was resplved that the Town Surveyor's recommendation, that the road from the newly-erected bridge in Exeter Street be metalled as far as Canterbury Street, he referred to the Road Committee. Resolved that a sum of £10 be placed at the disposal of the Road Committee for four efficient lamps. Resolved that the advertisement respecting the culvert in London Street be altered so as to include brick, stone, or other durable material. The Surveyor was recommended to obtain a brand for the Municipal Council, to brand tools or other property of the Council. 'Hie Council then adjourned.
