o Weekly Market Report. Stronach, Morris and Co.. Ltd., report for week ended Thursday. Ist June, as follows; Fat Cattle A medium yarding, 124 being penned. Prices, on account of the small yarding, were firmer by about 20s per head. The quality on the wh le was only medium. Best bullocks £l6 to £18; extra to £22; medium£l4 to £ls; inferior £ll to £l2; best cows and heifers £l2 to £l4; extra to £lO 17a Od; medium £lO to £11; inferior £8 to £9. Fat Sheep. A medium yarding, 1023 being penned. Tbe quality was only fair. Prices, on account of tne small yarding, were firmer to the extent of 4s per head. Quotations : Best wethers 32s to 30s; extra to 00s; medium 27s to 29s ; inferior 23s to 245; best ewes 29s to 32s ; extra to 38s 9d ; medium 24s to 26s ; inferior 19s to 21s. Fat Lambs.—A small yarding, 543 being penned, the quality being only fair. Competition from exporters was very keen, with the result that prices improved on last week’s rates to the extent of 2s per head. Best lambs 24s to 28s ; extra to 34s ; medium 21s to 225; inferior 17s to 19a. Pigs.-A small yarding of fat pips. Competition was good, and values showed an advance even on tbe high prices paid last week. Best baconers to I08s; medium to good 90s ; best porkers to 70s; medium to 60s. There was a medium yarding of stores, and late rates were well maintained. Slips to 28s 6d ; weanera 12s to JBs. l.abbitskins Our next Sale will be held on Monday, sth inst. Sheepskins : —We held oar fortnightly sale on Tuesday, 30th we submitted a small catalogue to the usual attendance of buyers. Competition was good, and prioes were firm at last sale’s rates, with the exception of pelts, which were a little easier. Quotations : Crossbred to bred to 12d ; halfbred to 12Jd ; merino to 9Jd; lambskins to 1J 2d ; pelts from4d to 8d per lb Hides’—Our next sale will be hold on Thursday, Ist inst. Oats.—Fair sales have been reported during tbe last week, with prices slightly in advance of late rates. Prime Cartons are mostly in favor, but all classes of good prime feed have more attention. Prime milling 2s 4d to 2s SJ; good to best feed 2s 3d to 2s 4d; inferior to medium Is JOd to 2a per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat.—The bulk of the Xvheat offering is mostly of medium quality, and for this there is very little demand, millers confining their operations to choice lines of velvet and Tuscan, Fowl wheat is plentiful, and meets with a moderate demand at quotations. Prime \ milling velvet 5s to 5s 2d ; prime milling . Tuscan 4s 3d to 4s 4d; medium 4s to 4s 2d ; best whole fowl wheat 3s 9d to 3s lid ; medium 3s 3d to 3s 8d par bushel (sacks : extra). Chaff.—Tho demand is chiefly for bright i qeavy oaten sheaf, for w'bich there is a steady enquiry, ond consignments are saleable at quotations. Inferior and medium quality are very difficult to quit on arrival. Quotations : Best oaten sheaf £3 10s to £3 15s ; medium to good £3 to £3 7s 6d per ton (sacks extra). Potatoes :—There is a good demand for choice lines of tables ; but there is very little of this description coming forward. Unsound and doubtful consignments are easily sold to advantage. Choice tables £5 5s to £5 10s; good £5 to £5 5u ; medium £4 to £4 5s per ton (sacks in). Weekly Market Report.
