FOWLER'S PICTURES.

It was to be regretted, both from Mr Fowler's and his patrbns point of view that owing to some slight hitch in the engine on Saturday night a start could not be made at the regular hour. Many of his patrons were undoubtedly disappointed, bnt we are glad to record that those who braved the wait were in the end rewarded for their patience, &3 in spite of the late hour the whole programme was put through without further trouble. There was nothing seriously wrong with the engine and the pictures will be moving as sweety as ever on Saturday next when another excellent programme is promised us. " The Heart of Silver Leaf " is an Indian drama so popular with the younger folk, " A Southern Soldier's Sacrifice" will appeal to those who admire a soldier's braveay in giving his life for his brother, and " Saved from Wolves" is a thrilling narrative of two little boys who are overtaken in the woods by wolves, but who are eventually saved from death by the timely arrival of their father. A jewel robbrey and a distardly outrage in a motor car are included in the plot of " The Man in the Taxi," while the humorous element could not be in better hands than those of Max Lindei in " Max sets the Fashion."
