WEDDINGS.
Chalmers—Austin
A wedding of considerable local interest was celebrated at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Arrowtown, yesterday by the itov. It. Welsh, the contracting young couple being Mr Peter Chalmers, son of Mr John Chalmers, Arrowtown, and Miss Elizabeth Austin, daughter of Mr James Austin, Cardrona. Quito a number of friends wore present to witness the happy event, and on leaving the church the young couple were greeted on all sides with hearty good wishes for their future health and happiness. Mr Lytligo acted as host man, and Miss I!. Austin as bridesmaid. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr Donald Austin, was attirod in a handsome pale blue taffeta, silk, trimmed with cream silk insertion, with the orthodox wreath and veil,while tin! bridesmaid wore a pretty brown velvet costume with hat to match. The wedding march was played by Miss M. Edwards. After the ceremony a sumptuous wedding breakfast was partaken of at the residence of Mr (leorge Dudley. Mr and Mrs Chalmers were the recipients of many useful and handsome presents. Their future homo will bo Cardrona.
