Quartz from the 4244 level in the New Chum Railway Mine, Victoria, the deepest in the world, yielded an ounoe per ton. No tender having been received in accordance with specifications to raise the Junction Eleotrio No. 1 dredge, whioh recently sank in the Eawarau, the directors have decided to take no further steps, believing that a dredge can be purchased for less than the old one can be raised for.
