OBITUARY.
Once more the sad duty devolves upon us to record another death in our midst. After a trying illness and years of indifferent health Mrs Chalmers, wife of Mr James Chalmers, passed peacefully away at her residence,,. Death came as a happy release to the sufferer, who had reached the age of 69 years. The late Mrs Chalmers was highly esteemed by those who had the pleasure of her acquaintance. We tender our heartfelt sympathy to the sorrowing husband and family. The funeral took place on Tuesday, many friends attending to pay the last tribute of respeot. The burial service was conducted by the Rev. D. Eeay Fisher. Word was received by Mrs J. K. Paton, of this town, on Tuesday, of the death at Christchurch of her sister, Miss Good. Deceased lady paid a visit to Arrowtown only a few weeks ago, and the suddenness of her demise would come as a shock to her friends* with whom much sympathy prevails.
