The Statistics Committee reported to the Methodist Conference that there were 24,889.421 adherents of Methodism. Besides adherents, there were 7,659,285 actual church members. The church property is valued at £60,000,000. The Methodist Conference, replying to the welcome accorded by the Bishop of Nondon (Dr Ingram), indicated that there were great and permanent difficulties in the way of a union of the Methodist and Anglican Churches.
The Queen of Roumania is said to be making arrangements for providing every rural commune in the kingdom with one dramatic performance a week for the purpose of " inculcating the precepts of morality and social duties."
