At a m u etiug of shareholders of the Dirt Company in Dunedin, the following resolution was carried ; “That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is ad visible to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily, and that, 11. F. M. Mercer and J. N. La wson, of Dunedin, accountants, be and they are hereby appointed liquidators for the purposes of such winding-up.” The Oromwell Argus learns that the White Star dredge started work on Monday last, the crew having taken her on a month's tribute. The case A. and T. Burt v. the Centlo Annie 00. was argued in Chambers last week. His Honor reserved bis decision. It is stated (says a West Coast paper) that Mr Seddon learned something about dredging during his recent visit to the Coast; amongst other things that there are companies that have no title to their claims, and that he will take up the matter of reform himself. The gold escort which arrived here on Monday last week and left again next morning took with it one of the largest parcels of gold that has ever left Roxburgh, two coaches being required that morning. We have it on good authority that there was over half a ton of pure gold in the boxes.—Mount Benger Mail. The Chatto Creek claim and license 240 a, section 30, block VI., Tiger Hill district, 67 acres 7 poles, and the stream dredge, as she now lies on the claim, Manuherikia River, about seven miles from Alexandra, together with equipment, etc., were offered by public auction.
