FEDERAL PARLIAMENT.
MELBOURNE, August 29. Mr Barton, replying to a question, said that with reference to the trouble with the Victorian Parliament re the housing of the Federal Parliament, negotiations with the State Parliament for the occupancy of Parliament House- had come to a standstill, and the matter would be dealt with by the Cabinet. Members complained of the want of hospitaity by the Victorians, and urged that the present position of affairs was an indignity to the Federal Parliament. Some members advocated the erection of temporary buildings, and others that Mr Barton should shift the Parliament to Sydney at once.
