THE PLAGUE.

SYDNEY, August 9. The Board of Health report that investigation does not tend to support the belief that the man Fury died from plague. With the object of arriving at an absolute certainty, a further diagnosis will be made. The Premier stated in the Assembly that from later information he had received it seemed beyond doubt that it was not a case of plague. Claims totalling over £34,000 have been made in connection with the quarantining operations during the late plague outbreak. A little over £IO,OOO has been recommended to be paid.
