GLENORCHY.

The long-looked-for bachelors' ball was held on the sth inst. Some 26 couples graced the floor in the grand march, and it is said that fully 75 young and old people sat down to the first-class supper in Wilson's Glenorchy Hotel. Visitors came from all parts of the district Frankton, Queenstown, and Mt Nicholas included. The music, which was of the best, was supplied by Messrs W. Davidson (violin) and G. Reid (piano), while Mr J. M'Donald made an efficient M.C. Dancing was kept up till 6. 30 a.m., with great spirit, and all aopeared to be well satisfied with their evening's enjoyment. The committee worked well, and a word. of praise is due the joint Messrs P. M'Kenzie and James Wilson. At intervals during the evening songs, were given by Messrs W. Pauhn and W . Clincren. Tne refreshment department, was under the care of Mrs and Mag, \itken, of Diamond Lake, in the absence of Mrs Wilson, who .was unfortunately unwell. . - .
