INCONSISTENT WOOL AND GRAIN REPORTS.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Whilst perusing the Otago Daily Times issues of the 27th and 28th February, I was somewhat surprised to notice the contradictory reports. Moritzson and Llopkin’s weekly report quote barley (if prime) at 3s 4d to 3s 9.<, good demand, whilst in the same issues Reynolds and Co. report r “ Market not opened yet; consequently cannot report.” Now I would certainly appeal to farmers which is the correct report—Moritzson and Hopkins’ or Reynolds’. I would certainly say the latter is correct, as really the market has not yet opened. Moritzson and Hopkin also report their last sale for the season will take place on 27th inst. Will Messrs Moritzson and Hopkin state how many bales of wool (if any) they sold at the sales referred to, as I sec their names do not appear amongst the selling brokers. Although they state 1952 bales were submitted, they expect a rise in merinos. No doubt if Mr Moritzson was to come here and pay cash for grain and hides equal to their reports, a deal of business would result. No use in puffing. Pay cash and a bargain will result, when delivery is at Frankton, and no , risk taken. A Farmer.
