ARROW DISTRICT RACES.
A meeting of the Race Committee was held on Saturday evening, when the following members were present:— Messrs Gruber (in the chair), Jenkins, Scoles, Pritchard, Colville, Douglas, and Mackay. Tenders for the refreshment-booth were opened as follows:—Mrs R.Bond, £7 10s ; Mr W. Scoles, £lO. Tbe tender of Mr Scoles was accepted on the motion of Messrs Colvillj and Scol-s. Proposi d by Mr Douglas, seconded by Mr Jenkins, and carried, *• That Messrs C lville and Mackay act as handicappers." Proposed by Mr Colville, seconded by Mr Pritchard, and carried, " That Mr G. B. Douglas be appointed judge." The following nominations were received for the Maiden Plate and Handicaps :—Maiden Plate—Mr D. M. Gibbon's bl. c. Arrow, Mr W. Welsh's b. g. Volunteer, Mr J. Colville's Phanton, Mr K. Gruber's b. c. Snowdoun. Arrow Handicap—Mr Tuohy's b. g. Speculation and ch. g. Port Philip Buck, Mr Olson's ch. m. Etty. Grand Stand Handicap—Mr Olson's ch. m. Etty, Mr Tuohy's b. g. Speculation and ch. e. Port Philip Buck. fi A vote of thanks to the chair closed the meeting.
