An interesting Welsh relic of the London (185.1) Exhibition is owned by a Cymri-American, of Utica, New York. It is a large harp, made at Cardiff from a historic sycamore tree growing near Wenroe Castle, Glamorganshire, which was planted by one of the ancient Welsh princes. The late Prince Consort ordered the harp to be made for the Exhibition, but in the course of years the instrument found is way into a pawnshop in Wales, where it was bought in 1867 for £2o—the original cost having been £180; A curious account, says a ' Times' telegram from Calcutta, is reported of the frenzy of a Beloochee sepoy, at Hyderabad, Scinde, who, after sbooting his mistress, whom he believed unfaithful, quietly left the barracks in the early morning with 100 rounds of ammunition and deliberately shot every person he met. He was eventually brought to bay by one of his officers, who shot him with a revolver, but not before he had killed six persons and dangerously wounded four others. A murder for a miserable motive has been committed in Paris by a soldier DainerVJPeeaux, of the 131st Regiment. He calved on a young married woman,, a friend of his family, in the Faubourg St. Martin—Madame Fuseing. She asked him to breakfast. While at table he ran her through the body with his sword, and stole 60 francs. " As soon as he had spent the money he gave himself up, saying, coolly, he wanted a lark.
