Customers’ Own Material V The trunks in many old attics and lofts would yield rich harvest for a visit to Elizabeth Winter. V; , v •y -. ; “The pinafore belt” is pne.of-.Eliza-beth Winter’s ideas for giving the: appearance of a new dress without expending coupons. A suede, or kid halter is worn over the blouse or dfess,, fastening in a bow at the hack of .the neck. The front pieces are fastened-’ into a wide cummerbund or belt at the Avaist. On handbags, Elizabeth Winter has very definite ideas. “With the luxury tax which has to be added ’these days,, good ones are necessarily expensive, she says. “ I think, therefore, a handbag should be made to last at least five years.” She makes up handbags in tweed or suiting to inatch dresses or coats. For summer she uses raffia, kid or white leather. Dorothy bags are made ini, black snake or lizard. Sizp of Handbags The size of the handbag ajsp, , .she feels, should bear some relation to the size of the woman who is to carry it.
