RECREATION GROUND PLANS
Arrowtown Borough Council
An application to the Minister of Internal Affairs for assistance towards the cost of providing facilities at Arrowtown Recreation Grounds was completed at the monthly meeting of the Arrowtown Borough Council last week. It was also decided to hold a gymkhana day on the first day in January to raise funds for playing facilities at the Domain, and to call a public meeting at a later date to discuss this. Present were the Mayor. Mr E. L. Thompson, Crs J. W. Reed. J. R. Cowie, J. W. Henderson and E. J. Saunders. An apology for absence was received from Cr A. Erridge. The outward correspondence was approved and the inward received. Bowling Club Charges The secretary of the Arrowtown Bowling Club wrote making an application for a revision of rental and rate charges. Total charges for rates and rent were fixed at £3 per annum. Mr J. R. Cowie was granted permission to tap the water main at the usual special water rate. The Rev. W. A. Hanaran applied for a reduction of rates on an unoccupied cottage and garage. A reduction was granted on the cottage only. The secretary of the Historical Committee submitted for approval the proposed allocation towards expenses incurred in completing the historical record of the district.
