HELENSVILLE A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

EVERY PROSPECT OF A SUCCESSFUL SHOW.

RECORD ENTRIES.

INCREASE IN CATTLE.

SLIGHT DECREASE IN PIGS,

HORSES, AND SHEEP.

LARGE INCREASE IN TENT

EXHIBITS.

The 13th Annual Show of the Helensville Agricultural and Pas • toral Association to be held in the Show Grounds, Helensville South on Monday next, January 29th, is a record as far as the number of entries are concerned, and given a fine day, should prove one of most successful shows yet held in the Kaipara. The Auckland Pipe Band has been secured, and a good programme of music is assured. \

The catering is in the hands of" Mr J. J. Sinclair, who had the contract last year, and satisfied the wants of the visitors so' well that ' his services were again; sought this year. (

In the Horse classes the entries are not quite so large as last year, but the class of animal is if anything, superior. A number of horses from Auckland are entered, chiefly in the Saddle Horses and Roadster events. The riding events which are post entries, pro-; mise to be well competed for.

Cattle,: —The entries are consideraole larger than at previous Shows, especially in the Holsteim and the Jerseys. In the pen classes the entries are not so large, but those coming forward are of a superior class. Dairy cows will be well represented, and will include the three prize winners of the Cow to be judged by milk test, taken by the Committee in November last. The winners being Mr Jas. McAdams (Strawberry) first ; Mr J. McDonald's second ; and Mr H. Aitkenhead's third.

Pigs and Sheep.—The entries are less than previous years but of good stock, w

Tent Exhibits.— There is a verylarge increase in all entries over previous years. This has been a rather weak feature in the show in previous years, and promises to be exceptionally good this year. The field and garden produce, owing to the favourable weather, will be one of the features of the Show.

With regards the laying out of the grounds, the committee are busy, and would gladly accept any assistance from outside.

The total number of entries for this year is 1158, an increase of 314 over the previous highest which was 844 in 1910. The great increase being in tent exhibits in which there are 304 more entries than in 1910.

A meeting of the Show Committee was held in the Secretary's office last evening when a consiHerable amount of preliminary work was got through.
