That the hospital is filling its function in the district and is being appreciated by all is becoming more and more evident: Patients Treated Ist Quarter. 2nd Quarter. 1920 _ 3 13 1921 _ 13 11 Appointments: Sister Reidy relieved Nurse Troutbeck at the end of January 1921. The hospital staff wishes to acknowledge with thanks tbe receipt of various donations, etc., during the past half year, notably, Gramaphone and records, shrubs, flowers, etc. for grounds, voluntary labour for erection’ of fence round grounds, formation and shelling of paths, digging garden and carting of water. Wire for fencing grounds was presented by Mr A. M. Sbeweiry (2 years ago), posts presented by Mr Thorne of Moerangi, anti balance of these (which were helo up pending a settlement of a dispute re right of way at Aoteaj by Mr Kearns of Kinohaku. Also with thanks : from Mi Sheweiry, loan of punt and horse' and cart for carting shells and posts, carting of water during dry spell and loan of several cowe in milk for hospital use. As a result of these voluntary contributions, it has been possible for Sister Reidy to reduce very considerably tbe accounts for hospital maintenance, in spite of an increased number of patients, thus helping to remove one of the chief causes of complaint against the existence of tbe hospital.
