PIO PIO GOLF BALL

LARGE CROWD ATTEND. MOST ENJOYABLE FUNCTION. The outstanding social function of the Pio Pio district is the annual Golf Ball, which was held on Friday last. Despite the inclement weather there were present about 250 dancers, and the music was supplied by a band from the Blind Institute, Auckland.

The hall was decorated with lycopodium, which formed a canopy over the dancers. The arrangements for the ball were in the hands of the following committee: Mesdames C. Shirley, N. Green, Misses Kath Hodson, Barbara Heale, Doreen Johnston, Messrs. S. Aston, L. and G. Anderson, R. Clegg and A. Mann.

The guests were received by Mr. S. Aston, president of the Pio Pio Golf Club, and Mrs. Aston, who was wearing a frock of cherry silk taffetas. Amongst those present were: Mesdames H. M.
