TAUMARUNUI STOCK SALE
FURTHER PRICES. IMPROVED VALUES. On Tuesday the prices received at the Taumarunui live stock sale showed a marked improvement on recent sales. Fat bullocks were purchased by local butchers at from £6 7s 6d to £ll 10s, and fat cows made from £4 12s 66. to £6 7s 6d. There was also a fair demand for young farm horses, a small consignment from the Waikato making from £7 10s to £24. Sheep.—Fat wethers 20s to 21s 9d; fat ewes 20s; store wethers 12s 9d; 2-tooth ewes, r.w. S.D. r M 18s 9d; other 2-tooth ewes, 14s 7d; 4-tooth ewes, r.w.r., 17s 9d; 4-tooth to 4year ewes 18s to 18s 6d; m.a. ewes, r.w.r., 2s 4d to 9s; wether lambs 5s lid to 10s 8d; b.f. lambs, 4s 3d; cull lambs Is lOd. Horses.—Useful young gellings, £9 15s to £l6; three-year-old fillies, broken to chains and ready for work, £7 to £24.
Cattle.—Fat bullocks, £6 7s 6d to £ll 10s; fat cows £4 12s 6d to £6 7s 6d; store steers, £2 2s 6d to £4 ss; springing heifers, £3 2s 6d; killable cows 35s to £3 2s; dairy cows, £3 5s to £3 17s 6d.
