DANCE FOR SCHOOL FUNDS. A dance in aid of the Mangaotaki School was held recently in the Wajtanguru Hall. The arrangements were left in the hands of the local School Committee. The sum realised was in vicinity of £ll. During the evening the Monte Car)k> was won by Mr. Bob Anderson arid Miss J. Lowry. The music was' supplied by Keighley's Orchestra, Amongst those present were Mesdames Neil Ronaldson, Buckley, T. Amner, C. Lowe, A. Higginson, E. Allen, L. Verry, D. Nelson, E. Sundberg, Hugh Jackson, J. Olliver, Wilson, Misses M. Buckley, E. Bilton, Mavis Verry, Marian Marks, B. Nicholson, Mary Weir, J. Lowry, J. Furniss, J. (J. Higginson, J. Win-thorp, J. Osborne, E. Basketball.
Last Saturday a basketball match was played between the Mangaotaki and Pio Pio District High School teams. The High School team wonja very even match, 6 —3. Miis J. Winthrop was the referee.
