OTOROHANGA SCHOOL DEFEATS TE KUITI.
In a Teddy Shield match at Otorohanga last Saturday, Otorohanga District High School defeated Te Kuiti by 22 points to 6. The match attracted a number of spectators who saw excellent football in spite of the heavy rain which fell unceasingly during the game. Otorohanga were pressing within
the first minute and offside play on Te Kujiti's part allowed the local boys a free kicTc. Searancke failed with this but Oto continued to press until relief came through R. Smith, whose line kicking was Outstanding. Searancke was unlucky with the next free kick, a poster, but shortly afterwards, following a loose scrum on the white line, the ball was cleanly passed from Harpur through Bell to Searancke whose weight enabled him to get over and score. He converted. Oto 5, Te Kuiti 0. Shortly afterwards a good rush from the centre of the field sent the ball through all the Oto backs out to Richards, Phillips coming again on the outside, accepted a pass to score. Searancke failed with the kick. Oto 8, Te Kuiti 0.

the wet ball was fumbled by the defence and Kibblewhite went over to score, R. Smith failing to convert. Oto 8, Te Kuiti 3.
Oto pressed again and in a race for the ball K. Smith just beat Searancke to force. Richardson put in a good run and passed infield, but holding on spoilt the movement. Handling in the scrum gave Te Kuiti a free kick which relieved. A kick by K. Smith put Te Kuiti on attack and McCormack followed up fast to score in the corner. The kick failed. Oto 8, Te Kuiti 6.

resulted on the Te Kuiti line. After a period of hard good play, from a
rush down field, Phillips accepted a pass to score. Searancke missed a difficult kick. Oto 11, Te Kuiti 6. Shortly after half-time, Searancke scored by the posts after a determined run. Phillips failed with the kick. Oto 14, Te Kuiti 6.

ment Clark scored and Searancke converted. Oto 19, Te Kuiti 6. Determined working by the Oto forwards soon led to another score by E. Bell, the attempt at goal failing, and the game ended shortly afterwards. Oto 22, Te Kuiti 6.
