NEW ZEALAND PRODUCE
POSSIBLE EASTERN MARKETS. GOVERNMENT ACTION URGED. The possibilities of Eastern markets for the absorption of New Zealand produce were described by Mr. D. Lindsay, of Hastings, who recently returned from a tour of the East, in an address to the Hastings branch of the Farmers Union.
"The operation of restrictions on Dominion produce on the British markets means New Zealand producers must find a n«w outlet for their goods," said Mr. Lindsay. "Australian farmers have realised the new position and are taking steps to remedy it, but New Zealand farmers appear apathetic in the matter." Mr. Lindsay said a demand existed in the East for New Zealand produce and urged that the Government send representatives to cultivate the market and establish contacts.
